What the card does
The code adds credit to your Netflix account. Netflix draws the monthly fee from that credit until it runs out, then asks for a normal payment method.
It is not a plan. It does not choose Basic, Standard or Premium for you — you pick the plan and the credit pays for it.
Two things break Netflix gift cards. First, the card is country-specific and must match your Netflix billing country. Second, if your Netflix is billed through a third party — an app store, a mobile operator or an ISP bundle — the credit cannot be applied at all.

Open Account on netflix.com and find Membership
If it says your membership is billed through another company, a gift card will not help. Cancel that billing arrangement first, or skip the card.

Note the currency on your last invoice
That currency is your Netflix billing country. The card must be for the same one.

Match the region on the listing
It is shown next to the price before checkout.
Where your code arrives
My Orders at /account/orders, open the order, and the code is printed on it under a green DELIVERED heading, with a Download as .txt button beside it.
Common questions
Is this the same as a shared Netflix account listing?
No. A gift card is credit on your own account. A shared or seller-managed account is a different product with different rules — see /help/subscriptions.
Can I use the credit for something other than Netflix?
No. It only pays Netflix, and it is not transferable or refundable once applied.
The code will not apply and my region is correct.
