How to find your Roblox username

Roblox identifies you by username, not by a number — and the username is not your display name.

Username, not display name

Roblox accounts have two names. The display name is the one other players see, and several accounts can have the same one. The username is unique to your account and it is the one a seller needs.

Roblox usually shows the username with an @ in front of it, sitting under the display name. The @ is not part of the name.

Where to find it

  1. 1

    Sign in to Roblox

In the app or on roblox.com, on the account you want the Robux on.

  2. 2

    Open your own profile

Tap or click your avatar or name to open your profile page.

  3. 3

Read the name with the @ in front

That is the username. The larger name above it is the display name.

  4. 4

    Copy it exactly

Underscores, capital letters and lookalike characters all matter. Select and copy rather than retyping.

Robux sent to a username that is not yours belongs to whoever owns that account. It cannot be recovered and is not refundable. Usernames differ by a single underscore more often than you would think.

Mistakes people actually make

  • Giving the display name instead of the username.
  • Including the @ when the field does not want it, or dropping an underscore.
  • Changing the username while an order is still open.
  • Confusing a capital I, a lowercase l and the digit 1 while typing it out.

Check it before you pay

  1. 1

Copy it from your profile page

Not from a chat message and not from memory.

  2. 2

    Search yourself on Roblox

Paste the username into Roblox search. If the account that comes up is not yours, you have the wrong name.

  3. 3

Leave the name alone until delivery

Changing it mid-order breaks the address the seller is sending to.

Common questions

Is there a Roblox user ID number I should send instead?

Send what the order form asks for. The form asks for the username, so give exactly that.

Should I ever give my Roblox password?

No, and not a two-step code either. Account theft on Roblox almost always starts with that request dressed up as a delivery step.

I have several Roblox accounts on one device.

Sign in to the exact account you want the Robux on and copy the username from there, not from the one that happened to be open.
