What the card does
The code puts credit on your Spotify account, which Spotify uses to pay for Premium Individual. When the credit runs out, Premium stops unless you add a payment method.
Spotify has stopped selling new gift cards in most markets, so listings can be thin. Check the listing description and the region before buying.
A Spotify code only works on a Premium Individual account billed directly by Spotify, in the card's own country. It does not work if you are on Duo, Family, Student, or if your Premium is billed through an app store or a mobile operator.

Open your Spotify account page on the web
Look at your plan and how it is paid. If Spotify is not the biller, a gift card cannot be applied.

Check your account country
It is in the account settings. The card must be for the same country.
Where your code arrives
My Orders at /account/orders, open the order, and the code is printed on it under a green DELIVERED heading, with a Download as .txt button beside it.
Common questions
I am on a Family plan. Will the card work?
No. Spotify credit applies to Premium Individual. You would need to leave the Family plan first, which is a decision worth making before you buy, not after.
The code was already used.
