Check the edition first
A Pro key activates Windows Pro. If your PC is running Home, activation may ask you to change edition first. The listing states which edition the key is for.

Open activation settings
In Windows, open Settings and go to the activation section under System (Windows 11) or Update & Security (Windows 10).

Enter the key
Choose to change the product key and paste the one from your order page. Copy it — do not type it.
An internet connection is needed for activation. If Windows reports the key is already in use or not valid for your edition, do not keep retrying — report the problem on the order with a screenshot of the exact message.
