What the card buys
The code adds Apple Account balance. That balance pays for apps and games, in-app purchases, iCloud+ storage, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and movie or show rentals.
It does not buy hardware from the Apple Store, and it does not pay a subscription you signed up for on a company's own website rather than through Apple.
CubieMart lists these as Apple / iTunes cards, and Apple TV cards are the same balance under a different name.
Apple gift cards are country-specific. A US card only works on an Apple Account whose Country/Region is United States. Changing your Apple Account country requires spending your existing balance down to zero first, so a wrong-region card can leave you stuck. Buying the wrong region is not covered.
Check your Apple Account country first
-
1
On iPhone or iPad, open Settings and tap your name at the top
Go into Media & Purchases, then View Account. The Country/Region field is on that screen.
-
2
Or check the currency in the App Store
Prices in USD mean a US account. Prices in BDT mean a Bangladesh account.
-
3
Buy the card for that same country
The region is shown as a chip next to the price on the listing.
Where your code arrives
On the order page. Open My Orders at /account/orders and open the order — the code is printed on it under a green DELIVERED heading, with a Download as .txt button beside it. Apple codes are 16 characters and usually start with an X.
Common questions
Can one Apple Account hold balance from two countries?
No. The balance belongs to the account's current country. That is why Apple makes you empty it before switching country.
Someone told me to buy an Apple card to pay a bill or a fine.
That is a scam, every time. No government office, no bank and no support agent is ever paid in gift cards. Apple has a page about exactly this scam.
The code will not redeem and I am sure the region is right.
Open the order at /account/orders, choose Report a problem and attach a screenshot of the exact Apple message. If the code was already used before delivery, that is CubieMart's problem and you are covered — see /help/refunds.
