Three parts, not one
A Riot ID is a name plus a tagline, written with a hash between them. Two players can pick the same name, so the tagline is what tells them apart.
On top of that, Riot accounts belong to a region, and Valorant Points do not cross regions. The order form asks for all three for that reason.
Where to find them
-
1
Open the Riot client or the game
Sign in on the account you want the VP on.
-
2
Look at your name in the client
Your Riot ID is shown with the tagline attached after a hash. Read both parts.
-
3
Or sign in to your Riot account on the web
The account page shows the Riot ID, the tagline and the region together, which is the easiest place to copy all three from.
-
4
Split them into the fields
Name in the Riot ID field, the part after the hash in the tagline field without the hash, and the region in the region field.
The tagline is not decoration. Send VP to the right name with the wrong tagline and it lands on a different player's account, permanently and without refund.
Mistakes people actually make
- Sending only the name and skipping the tagline.
- Typing the hash into the tagline field when the form does not want it.
- Sending an in-game agent or squad name, which is not an ID.
- Guessing the region instead of reading it off the account.
- Using an old tagline after changing the Riot ID.
Check them before you pay
-
1
Copy from the account page
It is the one place all three appear together.
-
2
Read the tagline twice
It is short, which is exactly why a wrong character slips through.
-
3
Match the region to the listing
If the listing does not cover your region, the order cannot work at all.
Common questions
Can I change my tagline?
Riot allows Riot ID changes, and the tagline can move with them. If you changed it recently, take the current one, not the one you remember.
Is my Riot ID the same for Valorant and Wild Rift?
They come from the same Riot account, but the top-up is per game — buy on the listing for the game you actually want.
Should I share my Riot password?
No. A direct VP top-up needs the Riot ID, tagline and region and nothing else.
