What the card buys
The claim code adds Amazon gift card balance to your account. You can spend it on most items sold on that Amazon site, and in many markets on Kindle books, Prime Video rentals and a Prime membership.
It does not buy other gift cards, and in some markets it cannot pay for digital subscriptions billed by a third party.
Amazon runs a separate store per country. The gift card belongs to one of them. Buy the marketplace you actually shop on, and check the region chip on the listing before paying — buying the wrong region is not covered.
Work out which marketplace you are on

Look at the address bar
amazon.com is the US store, amazon.co.uk is the UK, amazon.de is Germany, amazon.in is India. Each keeps its own separate balance.

Check the currency of the prices
USD means the .com store. That is the card you need.

Remember that one Amazon login can span several stores
The same email can sign in to several Amazon sites, but the balance does not follow you between them. Redeem on the site the card is for.
Where your code arrives
My Orders at /account/orders, open the order, and the code is printed on it under a green DELIVERED heading, with a Download as .txt button beside it. An Amazon claim code is a mix of letters and digits, usually printed in three dash-separated groups.
Common questions
I applied it to the wrong Amazon account.
Amazon does not move gift card balance between accounts. Sign in and check the account before you paste a claim code.
Can I ship to Bangladesh with it?
That depends on the item and on Amazon's own shipping rules, not on the gift card. The balance covers the price; it does not change what Amazon will send where.
Amazon says the claim code is not valid.
First confirm you are on the right Amazon site. If you are, and the code still fails or shows as already used, open the order at /account/orders, choose Report a problem and attach the screenshot. See /help/refunds.
