What a valid code looks like
Apple codes are 16 characters and normally start with an X. There is no web page for redeeming them — you do it inside the App Store on a device, or in the App Store app on a Mac.
On iPhone or iPad
-
1
Open the App Store and tap your profile picture, top right
-
2
Confirm the Apple Account shown is the right one
Balance cannot be moved between Apple Accounts, so this step matters more than it looks.
-
3
Tap Redeem Gift Card or Code
-
4
Enter the code by hand, or use Use Camera
Camera scanning only works on a physical card. For a digital code, type it.
On a Mac
-
1
Open the App Store app and click your name at the bottom of the sidebar
-
2
Click Redeem Gift Card
-
3
Type the code and confirm
What the error means
| Message | What it means | Who can fix it |
|---|---|---|
| This code has already been used | The balance is on an account somewhere. If you never entered it, it was used before delivery. | CubieMart — open a dispute |
| This code is not valid in this country or region | The card is for a different Apple store than your Apple Account country. | Only Apple |
| Redemption code is not valid | Usually a typo, or a character the seller sent incorrectly. Retype it slowly first. | You first, then CubieMart |
| Cannot connect to the App Store | A network or Apple-side problem, nothing to do with the code. | Wait and retry |
When it is CubieMart's problem
- Code already used before you received it, wrong amount, wrong brand, or a code that is unreadable on the order page.
- Open the order at /account/orders, choose Report a problem, attach the screenshot, then read /help/refunds.
- A region mismatch is not covered — Apple will not convert the card and it cannot be returned once it has been delivered to you.
